He had started his YouTube channel in 2011 and his first video was based on his dislike for the online role-playing video game Poptropica‘s new feature where they had added a ‘membership registration’ page.

He also runs a secondary YouTube channel dedicated to vlogging which has also proved to be quite a hit with his fans and has amassed more than 600k subscribers. It is titled PlainrockVlogs.

Although he has a dedicated fanbase, King has also often attracted criticism for the act of unnecessarily wasting resources when he tears apart hardware, which could have been used by someone more in need.
